The Black Tie is a rubberized aluminum click pen finished in a dark, matte register rather than a bright metallic one. The rubberized coating gives it grip and takes fingerprints far less visibly than polished metal.
The dark finish is the practical differentiator: a light imprint stands out sharply against it, which is the opposite problem to decorating a silver barrel where a pale logo disappears. That makes it a good carrier for white, cream or single-color reversed-out marks.
